A new study has shown that a new medication, Pfizer’s erectile dysfunction medication Viagra, could be helping the U. S. in a little-known and expensive game. But it’s not going to change how Americans take care of their own health.
The study, published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, was led by scientists at the University of Pennsylvania.
Pfizer Inc. (Pfizer) and a company called Eli Lilly and Company, which makes Viagra, are developing and selling a new drug to treat erectile dysfunction.
Pfizer is testing the drug on about 1,000 men in the U. S., said Dr. David M. Kornbauer, who led the study.
Viagra is marketed by Pfizer and Eli Lilly, which makes the drug.
It’s available by prescription only. The drug is being used to treat erectile dysfunction in men between the ages of 40 and 70. It can also be used to treat enlarged prostate.
Viagra can be taken with or without food, and some studies have shown that taking the medication before bed is safe, and it can help people feel more alert.
Pfizer will also begin selling a generic version of the drug, called Revatio, as soon as it’s available.
But it’s not all bad news. Pfizer and Eli Lilly are still trying to come up with a new drug for treating ED.
Viagra is the brand name for the drug, tadalafil, which is the active ingredient in Cialis. But it’s not known if the drug works well if taken as often as Viagra.
A study published last month in the journal of the American College of Cardiology showed that men who took Viagra on a regular basis for about six months had lower risk of death compared with those who took Cialis. Viagra was also found to have a greater effect on sexual function than Cialis.
The study, led by Dr. David Kornbauer, of the University of Pennsylvania, also found that men who took Viagra regularly for a year were at a slightly higher risk of developing erectile dysfunction than those who took Cialis. But the risk was small, Kornbauer said, and it was not associated with sexual activity.
The researchers also found that men who took Viagra for six months had lower levels of the nitric oxide chemical called nitric oxide’s precursor, which is present in the penis. Nitric oxide is also present in the blood vessels, and the nitric oxide is what helps to create nitric oxide and nitric oxide-like chemicals that cause erection.
They also found that men who took Viagra regularly for up to six months had lower levels of nitric oxide. The researchers also found that men who took Viagra for six months had lower levels of nitric oxide.
“The results of this study show that men who take Viagra for a year may have lower levels of nitric oxide in their blood than those who take Cialis,” said Kornbauer. “This may be related to the way that Viagra is taken.”

Tadalafil, sold under the brand name Levitra, is also approved for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia. Doctors may recommend it if you have a problem with your prostate gland.
Viagra may help men with ED to get and keep an erection for the first time. But if a man has trouble getting or keeping an erection, Viagra may help.
Viagra should be taken at least 30 minutes before sex. The drug is taken before or after sexual activity, but men should avoid taking it with alcohol. You should also avoid taking Viagra if you have stomach ulcers or an underlying health condition.
A drug is not always safe to take, especially if you have underlying health conditions, as well as other side effects of the medication.
Whether you can take Tadalafil at the same time as your other medications will depend on which medications you are taking.
You are required to complete a short medical consultation questionnaire that asks for any medications that you are prescribed from your GP and will indicate the medications that can’t be taken alongside Tadalafil.
There are several medicines which should not be taken concurrently with Tadalafil. Medicines which can have potentially serious interactions with Tadalafil include :-
• Any alpha-blocker medicines e.g. doxazosin (Cardura), alfuzosin (Xatral), tamsulosin, terazosin, or Flomax, that you can buy in the pharmacy. (These medicines may be used to treat prostate problems or high blood pressure).
• Isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, or use a GTN spray or tablets
for chest pain or use Rectogesic ointment?
• Nicorandil (Ikorel), used to treat angina
• Cimetidine, used to treat stomach or duodenal (peptic) ulcers
• Theophylline, used to treat asthma
• Antibiotics:- Clarithromycin, Erythromycin and Telithromycin
• Anti-fungals such as itraconazole and ketoconazole
• Seizure medication:- carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin and primidone
• Heart or blood pressure medication:- disopyramide, amiodarone, quinidine and procainamide
• Anti-viral medication:- telaprevir, atazanavir, retonavir, indinavir, saquinavir and cobicistat
• Recreational drugs:- amyl nitrate (poppers)

Most of the side effects of Tadalafil are “side effects” so that the side effects are not too serious is important. However, the most serious side effects can be more common if you are using a Tadalafil tablets for nitrates.
Cialis has been shown to cause some mild side effects. Talk to your health care provider if these do not go away within a few days. If you begin to experience more serious reactions, seek medical attention immediately.
